    Bypass Firewall Restrictions

Typically, to establish connectivity for remote peers, you either host your own STUN/TURN services or pay a third-party provider to have them hosted for you.

LiveSwitch Media Servers offer embedded STUN and TURN, eliminating the hassle of running any separate STUN/TURN servers and removing complex credential management. If you are using LiveSwitch Media Servers, you can turn on the STUN/TURN and follow these steps to bypass firewall restrictions:

    1. Configure STUN and TURN bindings for your Media Server Deployments.

    2. Configure your infrastructure to have the right open ports.

    3. Configure your client-side connections to use embedded STUN/TURN services in your app:

      a. When creating a Connection object, do not set IceServers to null or any other values.
      b. Set connection.DisableAutomaticIceServers = false on the Connection object.
